13 Black had a strong start to the season! Our team went undefeated Sunday earning first in our pool, and only had one loss on Monday in the championship bracket. This team started at seed 19 and ended in the top 10, at seed 9! Coaches are very proud of each player for remembering rotations and cannot wait for the rest of the season!

We had an awesome start to the season at Cal Kickoff. The girls played well and competed every game. Working together, bonding and having lots of fun made this weekend a success! This is a something special and we know the rest of the season is going to be awesome!
15 PINK

Awesome first time playing together for 15 Pink! The girls worked through the difficulties of their first ever tournament together and finished off the weekend with so much enthusiasm. By focusing on the basics and genuinely having fun, this team did a great job of coming together and performing well. Overall an exciting tournament and I look forward to their progression as a team :)

3 -2 record finished 9th in OPEN. That really is amazing.
What an outstanding start for our team. We served great. 93% and a 2.3 server effectiveness. 38 aces or 7.6 per match. We attacked at a .112 and earned 11 Blocks. Several players got to experience more than one position in competition, We were able to experiment with varying offensive strategies. I am looking forward to improving through hard work and focus at practice. It will be great to be one of the better teams in the entire division with room for improvement.

With 16 Black being mostly a new group of players, they used the weekend to play the players in different line ups to see who works well together and to use the weekend to asses how the team will move forward the rest of the season. Overall, 16 Black played well and had moments of playing brilliantly (took a set against the #1 seeded team). The players improved individually, their on court team chemistry and finished the final day of the tournament by going 2-1.
17 BLACK

Great start to the season for 17 Black! Our team of 12 really KICKED OFF the season on the right track with an undefeated Saturday and only 1 loss on Sunday. I love the energy we have on and OFF the court and the positivity from everyone! Every game we grew stronger and had fun. I can't wait to get into practice and help us grow even more! So proud of them all! We finished with 4 "w's" and 1 loss, 9th overall in club and we won shirts.....that's a good weekend!
18 BLACK

18 Black is off to the races after their start at Cal Kickoff this past weekend. We wanted to keep our goals simple this weekend and see how things went. So, we wanted to move with quick feet to the ball, communicate with each other, and have some fun. We definitely progressed on the first two, and aced the having fun part!
In all, it was a tough weekend, but you wouldn't know it by how much bonding the girls did. The one silver lining is that we have a clear picture of what we do well and the things we need to be laser focused on improving. We know that if we stay focused and fight with fire we can beat anybody! We can only get better from here - the wins will come!
