11 Black

(5-1)

27th - bronze

So proud of Aspire 11 Black! The team played great in their first 12’s league tourney. They were 5 – 1 and ended up first in bronze. It is always nice when you are able to get some wins but Tracey & I were more proud of the fact the girls were trying to do the things we taught them in practice. Bump set hitting, getting better at moving their feet, serving, and most of all learning to enjoy competition (win or lose). It is fun watching them grow through the challenges and learning to enjoy the spor

12 Black

(3-1)

5th -Gold

The Aspire 12 Black had another great weekend going 3-1, for a total of 7-1 this season. Our only loss came at the beginning of the day losing by 2 points in the 3rd set, and then after that we won all of our remaining games. As a group the team did amazing, setting a record for both kills and blocks in a game this weekend. We started introducing new pieces to our overall defensive strategy including using a libero for the first time. As a team, we have been working on more advanced serves and even had some great jump serves for the first time in competition. We finished the day ranked #5 in Gold Division, and are looking forward to playing again next weekend in the California State Classic.

13 Pink

(3-1)

38th - Aqua

I am beyond proud of what 13 Pink accomplished at league 1! We entered as 40th in aqua, won our pool and played our hearts out until the last game. We went 3-1 and now we're moving up to bronze! I couldn’t be more proud! Our serving was amazing and we were getting long rallies. We played two back to back games and I could tell the team was getting tired but they pushed through, dug deep and played with a clear head. Our serve receive has improved a lot we just need to work on communication on the court. All through the wins are always nice it was awesome to see the girls play good volleyball while having fun! Like the team would say clear head, full heart, can’t lose!

14 Pink

(2-2)

33rd - bronze

What a hard fought and exciting Sunday from 14 Pink! We came into the day seeded at #33, and after a very tough day we came out exactly the same. We started off 0-2, losing both pool games by two points in the third set. However, we really came together as a team for bracket and came back with even harder work and more energy, and ended up winning both games! Our ball control and serving game are really starting to come around, and it’s fun to watch. Can’t wait to see what we can do at the Golden State Classic!

15 Pink

(2-2)

19th - Silver

For our first official League tournament, 15 Pink set the mindset of not being afraid to make mistakes.  This meant going up and swinging hard, serving aggressive, and diving after every single ball.  This tournament showed us that everyone can be a team leader and that we all have each other's backs.  Someone who stood out and continued to stay up cheering on the team on and off the court was Rowan.  She took it upon herself to embody the idea of not being afraid to make mistakes.  With that energy pushing the team, we had our best ever serve receive percentage, we aced at least ten times per set, and had barely any dropped balls for the whole day.  This team is looking great!

18 Black

(3-1)

17th - Silver

18 Black finally tasted victory at League #1! Our overall record on the day was 3-1, with our only loss to NNJ. We came in seeded at 16, but that one loss meant the best we could do was 17 - and we did it! We beat Dynamic 17, Impact 18, and Silver State 17. We served at a whopping 90%, with one player serving 15 in a row to secure a third set win! Our hitting percentage broke even - a huge improvement over our negative percentage. We went from making errors and losing, to working together and winning! It was exciting to watch and we could not be prouder of the work this team has put in.

14 Teal

(2-2)

53rd

14 Teal had a very successful League #2 tournament going 2-2 overall. This was the first tournament where we all showed up. We decided to run a whole new 6-3 rotation and girls quickly adjusted to the new system. There were many rallies between each plays, but girls were being successful working as a team and moving on from their errors which lead the team to winning. There were many service runs/aces this whole tournament (literally unstoppable) and also many new fun cheers that brought the whole team together. Girls are improving every each tournament which is exciting to see as a coach. Overall, it was a successful and fun tournament!
