POWER LEAGUE QUALIFIERS

18's starting the season with Qualifiers in December! You couldn't tell from the chemistry on the court that they only had 6 practices under their belt! These ladies managed to move from Bronze to Silver, almost beating some of the Gold teams.

These ladies managed to move from 23rd to 17th after the opening weekend, and held 17th after the second tournament. 

Opening the first tournament against the #3 team is sure to shock anyone, but didn’t appear to phase us early on, taking the third ranked team to three sets and falling just short. A start that would set the tone for the rest of the weekend, only dropping to sets against teams ranked higher than ourselves. Early struggles will always be present, but there was no rust on our wheels to show only a handful of practices came before such a stellar outing.

18 GLADIATORS

All season long the team has battled to move from where they mis-started in Bronze, then into Silver, and then finally into Gold for the start of Regionals. With the opportunity to earn a Club bid to USAV Nationals, the team was fired up! Day 1 we were undefeated! Day 2 the crossover match to get into the Gold Bracket we would need to defeat Red Rock, a higher seed! But with no issues, we beat them in 2 - on to the gold bracket to face Apache! We unfortunately fell flat to a scrappy team and lost 15-13 in the 3rd set! We missed the Club bid by 2 points, but we learned a lot about being ready on defense!

From the start of the season to where they finished was a dramatic difference. These boys worked so hard and learned so much! Being a 17's team in the 18's division is always challenging, but they embraced the competition! This team will do big thing next year!
