Most of the tournament schedules can be found on line. The news article for the tournament will have the schedule link.

In general, tournaments begins at 8am. Play consists of 3-5 matches in a day. If it is one wave, then expect play to be over around 6pm. If there are am/pm waves then the am wave is 8am-2pm and pm wave is 2pm-8pm. PS volleyball is rarely on time.
For 2 or 3 day events, all teams will advance to the last day. Usually the last day is single elimination, but some tournaments guarantee 2 games. Check with Coach or the website to see what the format is for the final day.
All players need to arrive 1 hour before the first game, warm ups will begin 45 minutes before the scheduled start of the first game. Thereafter players need to stay near the court and report to coaches for warm up times for the remaining matches.
All uniforms should be court-side in players bags at all times.

Undershirts. We prefer players to not wear an undershirt with the jersey, but if they choose to it has to be black with the black jersey and white with the team. Some officials won't allow it, the team is supposed to be matching.
Playing time will not be equal. All playing time is the discretion of the coaching staff. This is a competitive team and the goals are to play to our highest ability. Playing time is determined by the coach and based on the demonstrated skills, attitude and effort in practice. Another factor in determining playing time are the teams goals , please trust the coaches to do their job.
Playing time will not be discussed at tournaments. There is a 24 hour policy in regards to talking to coaches about playing time.
We encourage players and parents to be enthusiastic with respectable cheers. There should be no sulking on the sideline, negativity/drama will drown us, encouragement and positivity/cheering will carry us. Players are expected to stand and cheer for their teammates. If they have a set sub rotation, they know when to go in and should be sprinting to the line when it is their turn to rotate in. Players on the court should not have to call for their sub.
When subbing it is important players are using the 5-10 seconds of standing and waiting for the official to beckon you in by exchanging supportive and helpful words. Maybe there is a hitter we really need to watch, or a player that tips a lot, or just saying good job, or serve it up! Whatever it is don't just stand there.
Players have shared responsibilities of officiating. Everyone needs to learn how to score, libero track, line judge (with enthusiasm) and down official (u15 and up). For more details on the responsibilities of these positions check out this link.
Here are some tutorials on how to keeps score. If you don't know you should ask how and watch someone who does.
Players rotate each set so that when they are off they can get food. At the end of the day, if you lose you usually need to ref. All players are expected to stay and officiate. If you ref game 1, that doesn't mean you can leave. Everyone stays till the end! The only person who can excuse you to leave is the Coach. If you have a flight to catch, talk to the coach.
During warm ups there are lots of balls going everywhere and we will have multiple Aspire teams at the site so it can make keeping track of the volleyballs difficult. So, if you hit it go get it! If the ball goes on the other court, go get it, if it goes in the trash, go get it, in the bathroom, go get it. If it goes on top of bleachers or rafters, report it to coach.
Balls cannot go outside!
Tailgating areas are usually designated by the event and sometimes have a fee. A team parent will usually reserve the team tailgate site (the club does not) and the cost will be shared by the parents. Having the team area with a pop up and table is pretty much a necessity at these all day events.
Some venues will have food on site (usually overpriced, fried or greasy, but some have salads, sandwiches and wraps). Team camps and shared food responsibilities seems to be the most common and preferred way of eating at the tournaments that are local. When we are traveling long distance, we typically coordinate catering or have players order online at a designated restaurant (Chipotle) and a parent will pick it up.
If you are a parent and can help with this task let coach know. There is an app called 'bringit' that works well for parents to sign up to bring something.
Just be sure to feed them, they exert a lot of energy while playing. Parents can leave and get food, but players must remain on site at the tournament.
