Power League is a series of events ran by NCVA (Northern California Volleyball Association) a member USA Volleyball. The league consists of club teams from Northern California. The 4th largest region in USA Volleyball and consistently one of the strongest.
The series of tournaments begins with QUALIFIERS which is more of a seeding event than a qualifying event. At the event you will play a spectrum of teams to seed you for League play. Based on your finish at qualifiers you will move into brackets for League play.
LEAGUE brackets - Gold, Silver, Bronze, Aqua, Blue, Copper, Dusk, Evergreen, ..... and it goes on by letter of the alphabet. the brackets will consist of seeds 1-12, 13-24, 25-36 and so on, with the number of team per bracket adjusting depending on the number of teams in the division. Each league you will play a minimum of 4 games. League play begins at 8am (unless otherwise stated). How you finish at League 1 will determine where you begin League 2. Top 3 teams from each division move up, bottom 3 move down, if you finish 4th-9th in a 12 team bracket you will stay in the same bracket for the next league.
REGIONALS are the championships for league play and all teams participate. Typically the championships are the top 36 teams (based on points) and then the balance of the teams play in the challenger division. The winners of the championship division earn a bid to USAV nationals.
These tournaments begin at 8am (arrive at 7am) and will end around 5 pm.
